![]() ![]() We have another tool called SQL defrag manager which can handle all aspects of managing fragmentation for you from analyzing it to choosing whether to reorganize (defrag) or rebuild the indexes. As a free tool, it is limited in what it can do for you. The company I work for, Idera Software, has a free tool you can use to look at the fragmentation of the tables in the database. they are talking about fragmentation of the indexes and tables inside of the SQL database. I do not think your software vendor is talking about defrag'ing the drive.
